Rosiglitazone maleate-2 Tablets
Each film coated, scored tablet contains Rosiglitazone Maleate 2 mg

Each film coated, scored tablet contains Rosiglitazone Maleate 8 mg

Indications :
Rosiglitazone is indicated as monotherapy as adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

It is also indicated for use in combination with metformin when diet, exercise and rosiglitazone alone or diet, exercise, and metformin alone do not result in adequate glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes.

It is also indicated for use in combination with a sulfonylurea when diet, exercise and rosiglitazone alone or diet, exercise, and sulfonylurea alone do not result in adequate glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes.

Dosage and Administration
The management of antidiabetic therapy should be individualized.

As monotherapy :
As an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus:

         

The usual starting dose of rosiglitazone is 4 mg administered either as a single dose once daily or in divided doses twice daily. For patients who respond inadequately with 12 weeks of initial treatment with rosiglitazone, the dose may be increased to 8 mg given as a single dose once daily or in divided doses twice daily.

In combination with metformin or a sulfonylurea when diet, exercise and single drug therapy (eg. metformin, sulfonylurea or rosiglitazone) do not result in adequate glycaemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus:

The usual starting dose of rosiglitazone is 4 mg given as either a single dose once daily or in divided doses twice daily. The maximum recommended dosage is 8 mg/day.

Contraindications :
Rosiglitazone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this product or any of its components.
