INDICATIONS: Gelusip^TM provides relief from heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion and to alleviate or relieve symptoms of gas.

Aluminum Hydroxide - Magnesium Hydroxide Antacid   Indications And Clinical Uses: For the temporary relief and treatment of duodenal and stomach ulcers, gastritis, hiatus hernia, esophagitis, heartburn and any similar gastrointestinal disorders in which control of gastric hyperacidity is desirable.

Contra-Indications: Should not be given to patients who are severely debilitated or suffering from kidney failure, alkalosis or hypermagnesemia.

Precautions: Antacids can interfere with the absorption of iron preparations and/or tetracyclines. Should not be taken for more than 2 weeks, or if symptoms recur, unless otherwise directed by a physician. Should not be taken within 2 hours of another medication, because the effectiveness of other medications may be altered.

Dosage And Administration: GELUSIP: 10 to 20 mL of liquid or 2 to 4 tablets 4 times daily, between meals and at bedtime as required to relieve symptoms and promote recovery. Tablets should be chewed. May be used diluted with water to make a 25% solution and administered at the rate of 18 drops per minute as a continuous gastric or duodenal drip for hospitalized patients.

GELUSIP Extra Strength: 10 mL of liquid or 2 to 4 tablets 4 times a day, between meals and at bedtime as required to relieve symptoms and promote recovery of active peptic ulcer disease.

Availability And Storage: GELUSIP: Liquid: Each 5 mL of viscous, white, peppermint-flavored liquid contains: magnesium hydroxide 200 mg and dried aluminum hydroxide gel 200 mg (equivalent to 153 mg aluminum hydroxide). Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium cyclamate, citric acid, flavor, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, menthol, parabens, peppermint oil, simethicone, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sorbitol, water and xanthan gum. Energy: 4.6 kJ (1.1 kcal). Sodium: <1 mmol (0.84 mg)/5 mL. Gluten-, lactose-, sucrose-, sulfite- and tartrazine-free. Bottles of 350 mL.

Tablets: Each white, mint-flavored tablet contains: magnesium hydroxide 200 mg and dried aluminum hydroxide gel 200 mg (equivalent to 153 mg aluminum hydroxide). Nonmedicinal ingredients: flavors, magnesium stearate, mannitol, sorbitol and sugar. Energy: 11.7 kJ (2.8 kcal). Sodium: <1 mmol (1.1 mg). Gluten-, lactose-, paraben-, sulfite- and tartrazine-free. Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium cyclamate, citric acid, flavor, menthol, parabens, peppermint oil, simethicone, sorbitol and water. Energy: 5.0 kJ (1.2 kcal). Sodium: <1 mmol (1.4 mg)/5 mL. Gluten-, lactose-, sucrose-, sulfite- and tartrazine-free. Bottles of 350 mL.

Tablets: Each white, mint-flavored tablet contains: magnesium hydroxide 400 mg and dried aluminum hydroxide gel 400 mg (equivalent to 306 mg aluminum hydroxide).
